This charming city situated in the southestdistrict of Czech Republic is without doubt one of the most stunning places. Beginning of this town is dated back to the 13th century and at present the town is well preserved in its medieval form and keeps its unforgettable atmosphere. Most of tourists visiting Cesky Krumlov compare this town to the capital of our republic, Prague, because of its beautiful historic appearance.
Castle and Chateau dominates the northern part of an urban preservation area that is listed in the UNESCO World Index of Cultural and Natural Heritage (since 13th December 1992).
You can either take a bus or train from Prague to Český Krumlov, although the bus connection is faster. There are several bus companies offering direct service to Český Krumlov, for example:STUDENT AGENCY, ČSAD AUTOBUSY ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE. The journey takes approx. 3-3,5 hours
Tourists find the most impressive place at the castle, the second largest castle area in the Czech Republic (the largest being Prague castle), where the castle interior is well worth seeing. From the St. Vitus's Church tower is also very impressive view over the unique scenery of Renaissance buildings, which is made even more spectacular by the Vltava River, which weaves its way through the town. The baroque castle theatre is dated to the last decade of the 17th century and it received its look in the year 1766 from the Joseph Adam von Schwarzenberg. Then the theatre went through some reconstruction and at present belongs to the nicest theatres in our republic.
Another unique place is the theater, which is located in marvellous and romantic surroundings of the castle garden. The most important thing is that there is revolving auditorium, so spectators could enjoy the magnificent nature scenery of the castle park.
The construction of the Church of St.Vitus dates back to the year of 1340 and was completed after the Hussite wars. St. Vitus Church is presently used for religious purposes. Classic music concerts are occassionally held here as well.
The Egon Schiele art centre is a gallery exposing a fascinating permanent collection and world-class temporary exhibits. The visitors can enjoy seeing exhibits from famous artists such as for example, Dali, Chagall, Picasso or Keith Haring.

The former residence was reconstructed in the 16th century to new buildings that form the modern brewery. 7 types of beer are brewed here presently.You can enjoy a theme restaurant , pleasant surroundings for 250 guests, traditional dishes and a great beer directly from the lager cellar.
Guided tours in all major languages are also offered. During the tour, you will learn the whole beer production process and interesting facts from the history of brewing beer in the town.
